Xcel Physical Therapy offers state-of-the art rehabilitation programs that include both a hands on approach as well as active exercise tailored to your specific needs. Xcel Physical Therapy believes in a functional interactive approach to exercise and as such emphasizes real life movements and multi-directional training. To aide in simplicity, Xcel Physical Therapy also incorporates gym type equipment and weights.
To maximize safe return to functional activities, evaluate specific performances, and keep rehabilitation fun, Xcel Physical Therapy incorporates the WiiTM into many interventions. We are one of the pioneers to use this system in the rehabilitation world and definitely the first in Northern Michigan.
The WiiTM is an interactive program that replicates your movements and allows patients to perform functional movements such as bowling, squatting and throwing in a safe environment. Your clinician can show you how to progress this toward real life scenarios.

Additionally, Xcel Physical Therapy, offers individualized Pediatric Physical Therapy with the assistance of our Occupational Therapist. Our most exciting endeaver is our participation with AMBUCS. AMBUCS is a national service organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. As a part of this service, we fit and offer AmTrykes for rehabilitation and mobility to our pediatric patients. You can see two of the models at the bottom right side of this page. The model on the left is designed for children 3-8 years of age and has a combined hand/foot drive. The model on the right is a part of their Pro series and is designed for children 4 to 10 years of age; this model addresses special needs in a traditional tricycle. Additional Amtryke models can be purchased for different age groups, needs, and purposes. Ben is currently working to get a local AMBUCS chapter in Northern Michigan to help offset the costs for these bikes to needy families.
